Install the chat widget on Wix

You can install live chat on your Wix website by adding the Chaport installation code to your Wix settings. Once it’s added, you can chat with your visitors in real time, capture leads, and automate support with chatbots. Follow the steps below to add Chaport to your Wix site.
- Log in to your Chaport account, go to Settings → Installation code, and copy the installation code.
- Log in to your Wix account and open your site’s dashboard.
- Go to “Settings” in the left sidebar.
- In the “Development & integrations” section, click
Custom Code. - Click
+ Add Custom Codeat the top right. - Paste the copied installation code into the field labeled
Paste the code snippet here. - Enter a name for your code so you can easily find it later if needed (for example, “Chaport Live Chat”).
- Under “Add Code to Pages”, choose whether you want to add live chat to all pages or only specific ones.
- Under “Place Code In”, select
Body — end. - Click
Apply.
Please note: To add custom code, your site needs to be published and have a connected domain.
After you complete the steps above, live chat is ready to use, and visitors can contact you from your website right away. To make conversations more effective, you can adjust a few settings in your Chaport account:
- Match the chat widget appearance to your website’s style by customizing its colors, position, and more.
- Use auto-invitations or chatbots to greet visitors and handle common requests automatically.
- Connect email and messaging apps to Chaport so you can reply to all messages from a single inbox.
- Fine-tune your workflow with options like working hours, pre-chat forms, assignment rules, and more.
