Install the chat widget on Squarespace

You can install the Chaport chat widget on your Squarespace website in just a few minutes. It lets you engage with visitors via live chat, capture leads, and automate support with chatbots. To add the chat to your Squarespace site, use one of the methods below.
Method #1. Installing the chat on all website pages
- Log in to your Chaport account, go to Settings → Installation code, and copy the installation code.
- Log in to your Squarespace account and open the website where you want to install the chat.
- Open the Code Injection panel (depending on your Squarespace interface, it may be located under “Website Tools” or “Custom Code” in the “Pages” section).
- Paste the copied installation code into the
Footerfield.

- Click
Save. - Done! Live chat is now active on your website.
Method #2. Installing the chat on a specific page
- Log in to your Chaport account, go to Settings → Installation code, and copy the installation code.
- Log in to your Squarespace account and open the website where you want to install the chat.
- Go to the “Pages” section and hover over the page you want.
- Click the gear icon to open the page settings.

- Click
Advancedin the left-side menu. - Paste the copied installation code into the
Page Header Code Injectionfield.

- Click
Save. - Done! Live chat is now active on that page.
Setting up your chat widget
After installation, your live chat is ready to use. You can also fine-tune the widget settings and enable additional features:
- Customize the chat widget appearance to match your site’s branding.
- Set up auto-invitations or chatbots to initiate conversations with visitors.
- Connect email, Facebook, and other channels to manage all chats in a single Chaport inbox.
- Explore other settings such as working hours, assignment rules, and more.
