Install Chaport using Google Tag Manager

What is Google Tag Manager?

Google Tag Manager is a tool that allows you to manage and deploy tags (code snippets) on your website without modifying the code of the site.

To install Chaport on your website using Google Tag Manager, you must have a Chaport account and a Google Tag Manager account with a published container.

What is a container?

A container in Google Tag Manager is what holds all the tags for your site.

How to create an account and a container in Google Tag Manager

  1. Sign in to your Google account.
  2. Go to Google Tag Manager.
  3. Click on Create Account.
  4. Enter your company name.
  5. Select your country.
  6. Choose a container name.
  7. Select Web as a target platform.
  8. Press Create.
  9. Accept Google Tag Manager Terms of Service.
  10. Copy the received code snippets and paste them into your website code.
  11. Done!

How to install Chaport on a website with Google Tag Manager

  1. Go to Google Tag Manager → Workspace → Overview and click on Add a new tag.
  2. Choose a name for this tag, for example, Chaport Live Chat.
  3. Click on the Tag Configuration section.
  4. Choose the Custom HTML tag type.
  5. Log in to your Chaport account.
  6. Go to Settings → Installation Code and click on Copy Installation Code.
  7. Paste the copied installation code into the HTML field.
  8. Click on the Triggering section.
  9. Choose All Pages and press Save.
  10. Click on the Submit button in the upper right corner of the Google Tag Manager panel and then press Publish.
  11. Done! Chaport is installed on your website using Google Tag Manager.
